have kidney issues in the US, such as neprhopathy, you can get into a specialist in under 2 weeks and get on medication to slow down or halt further damage.
Just watch the Canadians complain about 6 month or longer wait times to get access to specialist.. and while they are waiting get more and more scarring in their kidneys.
Seen it first hand with my son. Oh and thanks to my insurance having to change under Obamacare because it was a "Cadillac plan", everyone at my employer got dumped into a high deductible plan.
In my case, it was $6,000/yr. So when my son developed issues in late November, my bills mounted up to the deductible which then rolled over on Jan 1. So I had in excess of $10K medical bills out of my pocket without a dime of insurance kicking in.
