as a country.

First, We did not have the best HC in the world 10 years ago. Since the ACA, 30 million more people had insurance. Remember that the ACA was a repub model. Just getting more people insured was huge - for the families, for the doctors, for the hospitals, for the economy. And, bankrutptcies fell.

You're stretching when you say that a law was written for one unfortunate person - it wasn't - it was written for all of us, those covered in the individual market, those covered by employer plans, and those that got coverage via Medicaid.

I do think that every person in the US has a right to HEALTH CARE no matter their bank account or citizenship status. If Jesus were judging us, I'm pretty sure that would be his stance. Unfortunately, americans worship money and capitalism above all else and have got to the point where it is all about "me".

I had noted in some other thread that it is all a matter of priorities - do we want a wall to keep out those dirty brown folks or do we want health care and roads? Do we want tax cuts for trump or do we want health care?

Like I noted, there is going to be some TB'r, a trump supporter and loving that the first black president's program "lost" who is going to suffer from this repeal if it ever gets through the senate. It might be himself, his wife who now has a pre-existing condition because she had a c-section, or his daughter who now has a pre-existing condition because she was sexually assaulted. I have a hard time feeling sorry for him.

If the house repubs had any sense of dignity, they would have waited for the CBO score. They complained 7 years ago saying that the ACA was pushed through too fast (it wasn't) but they are doing the same thing they criticized Obama for.

Someone that you know and love is going to be seriously impacted. It might be you, it might be a family member or a dear friend. And morbidity tables tell us that.
