The solution to the fact the shrimp boats in Texas can't find enough workers given Trump's elimination of work permits/visas for imigrants
Facts are as follows:
Wage being offered is 17 an hour. At that rate Imigrants will take the job but not enough US citizens
There are plenty of unemployed US citizens to fill the jobs but yet they won't take them which means they are most likely getting government assistance
My solution is to stop the Goverment subsidy for able bodied workers that turn down jobs, or at least reduce it, will at the same time letting g the market determine the hourly wage thst attracts enough workers
Motexan's solution is to ensure wages ard no higher than 17 dollars via immigrant workers, keep paying benefits to unemployed citizens, but thus ensuring all shrimp boats are filled and operating
Which solution does the board prefer? Or perhaps there is a third
I brought it to the top as I thought it was worthy of broader discussion
