forward by silencing those that you do not agree with, that is a political move not a scientific one.
If you want to produce the scientist of tomorrow you do not teach them to march in lock step with everyone else. Skepticism is vital to science, if you want to be a scientist question everything.
Whether you believe climate change is 100% factual or complete garbage if you understand and believe in science you want young minds to question the status quo as opposed to developing a dogmatic belief in it. Dogma leads to stagnation. For science to continue to move forward we need to develope very bright minds who are constantly asking 'why?' and then challenging answers that that do not fully answer that question.
