That's a bunch of money that would have been earning money for me all these years that wouldn't be there now. I have no problem paying the taxes on those funds in the future. BTW, from my experience if a person plans his/her retirement properly their tax rate in retirement is not significantly less than what it was during working days so it is smart to have an after tax savings to offset those taxes imo.
