fascism has become an umbrella term to include National Socialism but they are not the same thing. Hitler wasn't a fascist, he was a National Socialist. No National Socialist EVER referred to themselves as fascist.
The communists called National Socialists fascists but the communists called any socialist ideology outside of coumminism fascism.
