You guys have obviously never taken a formal geometry class. In geometry you start out with a few very basic postulates (what is a point, what is a line, etc.) but everything else has to be proven. The same is true of Algebra and calculus as well. If it were discovered there would be no reason to require proofs. When an astronomer discovers a new planetary body he does not have to prove its existence.
You discover concrete things or concepts you develope abstract ones. Rights are a philosophy, philosophies are by definition abstract.
