What they did was abandoned Marxism and they sanctions thqt the United States imposed on those countries. The United States could have recognised Cuba and lifted embargo at anytime and Cuba would have been an ally before they even fully adopted Communism. I was not questioning whether you have or have not been to Europe. I ha ve been to Germany and Ireland and I am going to Italy over Christmas. Living in Tampa I have had coctails with a lot of Cubans even some that worked for the party. Most of the people during the revolution followed Cienfuegos. they loved him he was really not embraced in Communism just wanted a change from a fascist type of regime
