The country has fallen from its heights because of Barrack Obama, George W Bush, Bill Clnton (and Hillary).... The country was fed up with the likes of Obama, Bush, and the Clintons and showed it by turning to Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump.

The only Party that trusted the PEOPLE to choose their leader was the GOP. The DNC stuffed the box for Hillary in the primaries and cheated Sanders of the nomination because the desperately wanted to maintain the status quo.

The RNC hated Trump and also wanted a status quo candidate, but allowed the voters to select their own candidate....

Trump is not the one who dropped the standing of this great nation...he is the visceral reaction of the people to those responsible.... Hillary was the 2016 standard bearer for thos who damaged our nation, and voters spoke by rejecting her and electing a very flawed Trump.
