They are anti-labor and their impact on small communities can be devastating. In the early '90s I published an over-all economic development program (OEDP) for a regional planning commission (RPC) ha ha, in North-Central Mo. In the research I found that proprietors had been wiped out in a number of towns. I checked on when Walmart had come to town and found a direct correlation. Walmart's policies do not favor their employees, they are vehemently anti-union. It's been a while since I looked to seriously at it, but I don't feel I need patronize such policies. You might note that while they are a MAJOR employer, many if not most their employees need federal assistance WELFARE to survive. I think that is wrong.
