Just me, but I'm going to believe the guys who directly cover the Illini and who talked to Underwood and Walker last night after the meeting. Tilmon did not ask for his release. He told the coaches he was coming. It was reported on the radio in Champaign this morning that Tilmon was staying after having a great meeting with the UI coaches last night. His mother said that she has never talked to Martin. He is part of the top rated recruiting class in the Big Ten with the chance to add Smith soon.

He is not 7-feet tall, by the way. Closer to 6-10. Not a finished product, by any means. Probably at least a three year player. He will having freshman growing pains. Valuable piece but not an immediate star, IMO.
