not saying that KA ever had a chance at them. But if you've read the story of Porter Sr. and Romar it's pretty evident that they were the greatest of friends.
Which is why I don't believe Porter Sr. was planning to leave prior to Romar getting axed.
I think Porter Sr. was aware the axe was coming before most people and probably reached out to some contacts at Mizzou who knew who the next coach would be.
