The border war allowed us to set our sights so low in terms of dominating that competition, and it was really only a rivalry from the basketball sense. 'Yay, we won the border war again what a success'. Of course we did, that isn't a prudent SEC level benchmark. MU is never going to reach its full potential viewing ku as a rival.
ku cheats on a massive level, and one that isn't possible in Columbia even if we wanted to attempt that kind of a model. It wouldn't be sustainable long term so you either are critiquing your coach via an unlevel playing field or asking him to cheat and submarine the program.
MU didn't have a rival in ku, they had an enemy. That is way different. I don't want a rival who chooses a symbolic representation of themselves as a terrorist group who slaughtered the ancestors of the people of Missouri.
