I read about him the more I want him as the next coach of Mizzou Basketball.
He understands the game but, more importantly, has the reputation of being an excellent teacher — someone who can relate to players and get them to follow a system and play well together.
He turned Nevada around immediately in his first season, and his second season there is another huge improvement.
I think he would recruit well, especially with his background in the NBA.
Finally, if you look closely at his 3 years as an NBA head coach, he actually did surprisingly well - better than the head coaches who preceded and followed him at those clubs, in my opinion.
The only realistic candidate I still want more is Holtmann (Butler).
And I'll admit, I'm starting to warm up to Crean a bit. He would be a huge gamble though - someone who could have success (albeit with a low ceiling) or someone who could really flame out and be a disaster. With that said, it might be worth taking a gamble on Crean as one of our last resorts.
1. Holtmann
2. Musselman
3. Wojo
4. Wade
5. Cuonzo
6. Crean
7. Keatts
