with multiple Russians as early as late 2015. The question is what were the meetings about. Who instigated the meetings and were conversations had that meet specific illegal activity.

Knowing Trump's loud history of being the biggest deal maker ever to have walked the Earth, my assumption is Putin took a gamble in 2015 and initiated a plan to get Trump's attention by using Russian oligarchs to start tempting Trump surrogates with business opportunities that would bring Trump/surrogates big returns. The lure.

Next, Russia sweetens the budding relations with hacking DNC, leaking emails and pumping false news into the blogosphere to weaken HRC.

The hook is Russia now expects a return on their investment and Trump realizes he has been played and this issue is not easily swept under the rug.

I suspect Sessions was not a key surrogate during the Trump/Russia meetings during the campaign. I think Flynn, Paul Manafort and Carter Paige were leading the relationship. Trump knew he had to jettison Manafort & Paige but never expected Flynn to get busted and was probably surprised Sessions would get tied up in this.

Trump has a mess that is not going away. His best action would be to come clean, disclose what the conversations covered. Admit Russia interfered with the elections and give up his Russia friendship
