pitch to parents and quality recruits. We don't want the kind of bad press the beakers are getting right now, because they keep committing crimes and doing stupid things off the court.
Ignoring the fact that the team is young does not make it irrelevant. Young players are inconsistent, even at Kentucky, as Cal said recently. They will get older, more experienced, and collectively perform better in the future. And yes, sometimes it takes more than two years for a team to become cohesive.
You have no basis for saying nothing will come of the alleged improprieties on the academic side. That is nothing but pure speculation on your part.
Coaches who win championships without moral failures or cheating are not failures as a coach. What we are seeing, is improvement. Outside distractions have been limited by getting respectable players into the program. Your opinion of the future reminds me of this:
"Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin."
