Tai Chi improves one's sense of balance. I had been in a six week class in Boston.
Down in Delray that spring on windsurfing board first time, my balance was strong and I rode it out and out and out over wave and wave - not big ones, just two footers or so - until I realized Hey this is working and hey I am going OUT into the fcking ocean. At that instant,. I freaked out and jumped off the board and got washed to shore. Never went wind-surfing again. It was fun. And if you knew anything about Tai Chi, it has a lot to do with balance.
