There is no way TAMU can finish in the top 4 in the conference, they are basically already eliminated with their loss last night. And Tennessee wins a tiebreaker against us regardless of whether TAMU is there or not.

I like our chances now. Given the fact that we have basically run the table in the last month with every critical home game, it's hard to believe we ever lost to Alabama in Columbia. Seems like a lifetime ago. I give us about an 80% chance of beating Bama, and give Tennessee about a 30% chance of winning at Miss State. I like those odds.

The other important thing is to keep the very good tournament resume we have put so much effort into building, and not tarnish it. Losing to a mediocre team like Alabama with a very poor RPI would be adding another turd to that resume which we can't afford. If we beat them and then win at least 1 game in the SEC tournament, which would most likely be against a top 25 RPI team like TAMU or Tennessee, I think we lock up at least a #6 NCAA seed. Maybe even a 5 if everything falls the right way with the other teams currently projected on the 5 and 6 seed lines.
