Here's something I've wondered about on that choice.

How can anyone, poor or not, truly evaluate the school. One might assume that it would be run better than the average public school now and probably be correct, but making a change may not accomplish a lot.
I just go back to what used to work. Kids who studied and parents who required them to do so if needed. And teachers who could run the classroom instead of some useless school administrator, who didn't exist anyway, or some equally useless bureaucrat in DC.
Too bad that'll never be again.
