1. "Pingeton has been criticized for having too many girls on her teams with a 'straight' sexual orientation." I follow Mizzou sports very closely and I have never, ever heard anyone say that before. Maybe I missed it. I've criticized her for not recruiting more front court players. But I couldn't care less about what any college athlete does in their personal life as long as it's legal and consensual.
2. "There is less drama on teams with a smaller percentage of girls who are gay than on teams with higher percentages of gay players." Where do you get this from? Are you just making this up? Is there any factual basis for saying this? Or is it just your opinion or assumption. And even opinions and assumptions presumably have at least some evidence behind them, flawed or otherwise.
3. Most of the better players are gay, so a coach that consciously chooses to recruit only or primarily "straight" players will have "less of a talent pool to choose from". Again, where does this come from? Which also begs the question, do college coaches, when they are recruiting high school players, make any kind of effort to ascertain the kids sexual orientation? I seriously doubt this. Common sense tells you there are about a hundred things coaches look for in a high school player, and if sexual orientation is even on the list (I don't think it is), it would be at the very bottom.
4. You say Mizzou may have a few gay players but their percentage is way, way below the national average. What is that national average and where did you get that information? And how do you even know what the sexual orientation is of any Mizzou player? Are you guessing based on appearances alone? And if you somehow have inside info, I can assure you no one wants to hear it.
What bothers me most about the things you say and imply is that they seem to feed into ugly, false stereotypes many people have about persons sexual orientation.
