You're consistent. When you fail to exercise oversight and judgment and the NCAA is forced to come down on you, the punishment is more severe.
As every enforcement person I've ever met (including several NCAA) has told me, it's the coverup that gets you, not the crime, unless it's murder.
If Ole Miss had self-reported all of its infractions and proposed reasonable sanctions, they would have been a lot easier on them. Now it's going public in a big way with big time punishments and the airing of all the dirty laundry. Freeze will very likely lose his job and be hit with a show cause. The football program is no blue blood. This could affect them for years.
This dishonesty and your logic is why kU is on the all time list for worst offenders with serious infractions. KState too.
