but the freedom of our press is vital. William Greider's "Who'll Tell the People, the Betrayal of American Democracy" wrote that when he was a young journalist, the press people would all basically drink and hang out with working folks and today they are top 1% and far removed from the common man. He wrote also that all the public outcry is for nothing b/c despite the folks who show up at rallies and such, those folks eventually go home while the corporate lobbyists are there day after day influencing if not writing the legislation to benefit their benefactors. Deeply depressing book.
Greider is a great writer, also wrote "Secrets of the Temple, How the Federal Reserve Runs the Country".
