The offense overall looks 100 times better than any TJ offense did with perhaps exception to the 2007 season. The hitters actually look like they have a plan when they go up to bat and the overall production, even a bad eastern Michigan team, bared that out.
I really like alot of the new guys, freshman Chris Cornelius had a fantastic first weekend of his career and looks like he is flexible defensively either shortstop or second base. Kameron Misner is another freshman that looks like he will be for real offensively. It was great to see Brett Bond get off to a scalding start in his draft year. He can keep it up.
Two negatives this weekend were pitching and defense. The bullpen was much better later in the weekend, but pitching the first 2.5 games was just bad. Defense also was very bad, though they went errorless today. Really the defense and pitching was bad enough, along with horrible baserunning, that we should've lost three out of four if we were playing a decent team. I think this team has some potential, but they're going to have to clean it up when I start playing more competitive teams.
