So some folks show up - usually kids hoisting a poster with a symbol - pretty meaningful. Young kids often think ANARCHY !! is cool, without knowing a whole lot about it.
And NO, a Socialist did not run for president. A Socialist Democrat did. And no they are not the same.
In Socialism, the state and through it, the people own the means of production.
A Socialized Democracy (Bernie Sanders) has privately owned businesses (capitalism) while the resources of the state are use for the most part to benefit the citizens.
Corporate Democracy - what we have - has privately owned businesses and a govt that benefits large institutions and large corporations that pay the politicians for rules, laws and regs benefiting them.
