asked if i knew any anarchists or socialists.

I do not personally know anyone stupid enough to espouse those views but they are clearly in evidence in the news and in the media.
Raskol, next time you watch a riot disguised as a protest on television...when you are not reading emerson or buddha's greatest hits, look for the anarchist symbol. I have linked it below, for your edification.
And if i'm not mistaken, a socialist ran for president. She defeated an avowed socialist in the primary. (I assume that statement will generate whatever commentary the left posts in response to this, citing fat hillary as...whatever.)
The avowed socialists got millions of votes. From white nationalists? From conservatives? From staunch laissez faire capitalists? From sane people?
Back a few years the estimable maxine waters was waxing eloquently about the state of our once great nation and said that if things didn't change, she would call for the stammer, stutter...nationalization of our banks.
And remember the hokie doctrine:
Anyone who admits to being a democrat is a liberal.
Anyone who admits to being a liberal is a socialist.
Anyone who admits to being a socialist is a communist.
And anyone who pretends to be a buddhist is ... you know.
