Softball Thought From Tempe

Some quick thoughts between games. Tigers beat South Dakota 11-7 & it could have been a disaster. SD had the tying run at the plate when the game ended after foolishly having a runner thrown out at the plate that inning down by seven with no outs. All three of our pitchers were awful. Norman did not pitch.

Raime Cohen played a couple innings in CF. That little girl has an absolute cannon in her arm. Although she throw to the wrong base once & broke in on a linedrive hit over her head.

Kessinger has a great swing & looked terrific at the plate. In the late innings she moved from RF to LF to replace Garrison & made a fab. diving catch of a line drive. Of course with her speed, Garrison would have been standing under it. (Kidding)

In the 2nd inning, Fleming was on 2nd base with two outs & the batter hit a ground ball into LF between SS & 3B. Natalie hesitated for just a fraction of a second & was thrown out trying to score. She'da been out even if she hadn't hesitated but EE was not pleased with the senior's mistake. Romaine came in to replace her immediately. And Romaine hit two balls as hard as you can hit them. One a HR & the other so hard off the LF wall, she was thrown out trying for a double.

Oh boy, Burnside is going to be a great SS.

Amanda (and Tomita) are not here. I was told Amanda is caught up in a situation & SHE HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG. I repeat, she has done nothing wrong. I am not going to post the specifics here but will TBIM you if you want when I have time.
