to sit on the SC. He was only put forward because he was moderate enough that not confirming him was supposed to make the GOP look foolish.
If the senate had actually started serious hearings something tells me his name would have been withdrawn.
Everyone was so sure HRC would win that the current situation never occurred to them. Once the GOP announced that they would not confirm an Obama appointee the plan was to offer a moderate that would be rejected so Hillary would have the upper hand on the real nomination who would have undoubtedly been to the left of Ginsberg.
Trump winning was so far out of the realm of reason that it is the cause of much of the liberal meltdown. Bush was not surprising so the left was somewhat prepared for his victory. The first time many libs even considered the possibility of a Trump victory was when they woke to the news the day after the election.
