the PSAT was scheduled for a Tuesday afternoon after school. We had a soccer game that had been moved up because we were playing on a field with no lights. Take your time and focus on the test or rush through and make it to the game on time? Easy choice plus I didn't know what the PSAT was. Someone might have told me but I probably ignored it. I literally took 10 minutes to fill in the circles in a cool pattern, handed it in and ran to the game. Six months later I'm sitting there in an awards assembly and I'm seeing my peers walk up there for various national merit level awards. I have no idea what it's for. I ask my english teacher, who had proctored the PSAT, how those kids had earned the awards when half of them weren't any smarter than me. "You remember that standardized test you blew off last year?" Ahhhhhhhh.
