We can spend a lifetime arguing about what people long dead meant when they wrote an amendment. That is in my opinion, futile and silly.

What we have is what they wrote.

And the words they wrote have meaning. Democrats are the ones who change meanings of words to suit themselves. Decent people don't do that.
