If you're serious about making yourself and your kids safer, write the FCC and ask them to mandate an app that disables texting on phones going over 10 MPH. You and your precious spawn are much more likely to be killed by a distracted driver than by a terrorist.
But statistics and rationality are not for you, are they? It's all about anger, emotion and DOING SOMETHING, isn't it? FEELING SAFER is the important thing as opposed to actually BEING SAFER.
