inclusion of the word punishment in the phrase. Everyone has a right to life but like many of our rights society may choose to end that right if your crimes are egregious enough.

I realize many people have differing views on the death penalty but there is no problem being pro-life but still supporting the death penalty.

Let me turn it around though. How can you claim that a mass murderer who is a threat to society and has already broken our most basic covenant with one another deserves to be kept alive while we kill thousands of innocents every year?
