I believe there should be as few barriers as possible in the market. At that point production and sales will find the best place to produce and sell. Some producers will win on price...some producers will win on value, but the competition will be best overall with fewer barriers. In this way, both producer economies and consumer economies benefit. When you have trade wars, in which Trump is starting another one IMO, no one really benefits in the long term, but there are a lot of losses in many places
