Have a friend wbo was a VP at Sprint North Supply. He also looked for over 2 years. Took a job stocking Home Depot at night just to sock back money while still getting his separation package. They loved him because he showed up every night and didn't blow his first paycheck on booze/pot to never be seen again.
After a year of being under employed he helped his son run his lawn care business doing logistics and equipment maintenance management.
It's a b*tch getting laid off at 50+ and needing at least 15 years more employment to get by.
But you have it all figured out.
