Given a great program. He took the keys from legendary coach Don Faurot. He won 2 conference titles (1960, 1969). OU, Nebraska, and Missouri formed a big three in the conference, with KU just a rung below.

Pinkel took over a terrible program in 2001. In 7 seasons, he had us ranked #1 for a week. In 2013, we went 12-2 in the tough SEC. He never won a conference championship but they are harder to win now when you have to win a CCG.

They coached in different eras and are both great for different reasons. Hopefully we will get a clear number 1 in the not too distant future...
