Many different reasons have been offered. I'm fairly certain that one same reason does not apply to all, but that is why you investigate the transfers, to get to the bottom of it, and to see why each one occurred.
One thing not mentioned, though under the umbrella of a thing mentioned, is the issue of being shorthanded, that is to say, down a scholarship player. That could have been a factor, certainly not the only factor, in a player, saying we won't be very good anytime soon, and transfering because he expected the team to not do well.
Maybe if we had another scholarship player we would be 5 or 6 points better a game, and have a winning record.
That's pure speculation as to result, but not speculation with regard to being shorthanded.
