hindsight its clear both Korea and VN were huge and also hopeless endeavors that weren't remotely worth it.
But, we should know going in that using force in the mideast won't work. The West has been trying that for many decades - or centuries - and not gotten one damn thing from it.
But I welcome contrary arguments.
