Rather than the coach who can't get them. I agree with everything you're saying, but that's another argument against ever hiring this guy in the first place. Whether or not kids want to be coddled (and that's generally true), if you want to be remotely competitive you're going to need to hire a coach who can get those kids.

Vilifying the kids for making a rational decision rather than vilifying our AD/administration for being stupid seems like a folly.
