plan and return the routine care back to pay as you go.

Health insurance should be modeled after car insurance. You buy insurance you can afford for the big stuff that can be scaled for add ons and flexible deductibles. This care should be for serious health concerns and emergency situations.

Routine health care should be done without the involvement of insurance. The combination of losing the bureaucracy and the market forces involved in pay as you go should make it economical for the patient and still profitable for the family doctors.

Insurance does not pay when I change the oil in my car or a need a new battery why does it pay for yearly physicals and flu shots?
