What I said in another post, Cash's version was a very good song whether he wrote the lyrics and chord progression or not. It sounded like other good country/folk songs within that genre.

Nothing sounded like the song Trent Reznor recorded. It was a cryptic lullaby to a shattered life. That's the brilliance in that version compared to Cash.
