He probably does need to be a guy that can efficiently be a double figure scorer. Shoot well from 3 and contribute defensively and rebounding.
If he does that and Hughes becomes a more consistent shooter, that would give Mizzou 3 consistent perimeter players. If that happens the interior opens up. Puryear, Woods, & Nikko could then maybe make their moves against single coverage instead of double teams. It could also open slashing lanes for players like Walton, Jackson, Geist, & Phillips.

None of that happens without more consistent playing and shooting from guards.
