Crean won 28 games over his first 3 years and Drew won 21.

Drew didn't have an out of conference schedule during his 3rd year because of NCAA punishments so he probably missed out on a few wins because he had no cupcakes.

They both had stellar recruiting classes in their 2nd and 3rd years though which is something Kim has not had. In year 3 Tom Crean signed a McDonald's All-American in Cody Zeller who was from Indiana so that was enough to get him year 4 where he won 27 games. He also had made a final four at Marquette and was a proven winner.
