and they only had 75 who even met the regular qualifications.
Lots of crummy 6-6 and 7-5 teams. And a few 5-7 teams. And a few teams without 6 wins against FBS teams.
Mizzou very nearly became the only one of 14 SEC teams to not go to a bowl game. 12 teams qualified the right way. 5-7 Miss State got a bid because they had one of the 2 highest APR rankings among the 5-7 teams. 5-7 Ole Miss joins Mizzou as the only conference teams to not go to a bowl. Their APR was too low to qualify.
