Assuming that there is objective truth, which all thinking people do, there can be behaviors that are consistent with our understanding of this truth that further the processes of life and those that are dysfunctional and lead to suffering. Calling this "good" or "evil" are poor, human attempts at describing this conformity with life and objective truth, but it is at least as valid as defining "good" as the conformity to some religious doctrine that is typically not consistent with our limited understanding of logic and objective truth.
