dismiss why govt acts and the outcomes in favor of that they acted at all?
I deeply respect Ummmm as a poster and a thinker. I can't help but ask this question:
If the US government "overreaches" by giving $3B in aid to victims of a genocide or a tsuami or whatever in some foreign country is it the same crime of "overreach" if they give $3B in arms and training to a genocidal leader?
My point:
If we accept as a premise that the Federal government SHOULD NOT be as large as it is, SHOULD NOT regulate, intervene, etc. how it does domestically (or abroad)..
..then can we discuss an issue like Carrier in terms of the IMPACT/INTENT/EFFECT - while all agreeing the federal government shouldn't exist as it does today?
TL;DR - if govt is going to be huge, I choose to still care who is running it, what they are trying to do and what outcomes they achieve for US citizens all while accepting as a premise they shouldn't be doing most of it.
IF we can't do this, then it's basically saying "any POTUS or congressman or senator is the same because over-reaching is over-reaching, regardless of outcome, impact or intent.
I don't accept that paradigm.
