THe fed U3 report doesn't include marginal attached workers, part time workers who want full time.
and marginal attached workers isn't allways accurate either, the BLS only count you unemployed if you have applied for a job in the past 4 weeks.
the GUv has cooked the BLS to massage the numbers to make employment numbers high.
in 209, the US reached a high of 10.2. adjusted to the rest of recorded stats it gets to 17.5%.
the great depression reported 25%, at it's worst.
you can argue that 2009 could have been as bad as parts of the 10 year span in the great depression.
