I'm not surprised this is your position. you have it completely backwards.
Monopolies are government creations. Monopoly does not mean dominant market share, though it is misused in this regard.
You're free to set prices wherever you wish regardless of the amount of competition, regardless if you are the only product or service. that doesn't mean people will buy it. And in fact, someone will see opportunity and eventually offer it at a lower price or offer an alternative. That is the nature of the market.
