Provide a privatized option for SSI. It can be full or partial, but folks deserve to have some input if they wish.
We need to marry industry and education. Education needs a purpose beyond simply filling brains.
We need to figure out how to get the folks working earnestly above the poverty line and off assistance. If a higher minimum wage can do that, let's do it. I don't think we know enough to make that determination yet. Plus, one solution for a multifaceted problem isn't going to work.
We have to make post secondary ed more affordable. If that means making it free for those that qualify, we can find the money. We've allowed politicians and banks to turn colleges into cash registers.
