We are pretty much done friend - our species is responsible for the Sixth Great Extinction of Life on this planet.
The history of Life is what we are terminating.
Saddest kinda sorta is not only that our species has done this, but that our very generation - humans and particularly Americans living in this time - confronted a choice.
Deal wisely with what confronts us. Or continues as Professor Edward Wilson put it to "stumble along blindly with our focus on 'the economy', our happiness and our personal fulfillment. Life on earth be damned.
So it doesn't quite matter. We are done within maybe a hundred years or so. So your snarky comment about "the left" is just kinda empty.
