D-League players have the opportunity to sign 10-day contracts or even free-agent contracts with NBA teams during the season and realize substantial pay if that happens. It's a gamble currently. Because Pressey actually has some NBA experience, he has a better chance to be called up than the typical player. There is talk about the NBA expanding the D-League next year and basically tripling salaries to make it more competitive with overseas.
