The Hurricane, having lost nine seniors from a squad that surprisingly made the NCAA Tournament, didn’t land any players on the preseason teams. TU has 10 newcomers including three junior-college transfers.

Said third-year coach Frank Haith last week: “I don’t think people will have high expectations of our team early on. I don’t think people will know our personnel well enough because we signed so many guys and we didn’t sign a bunch of five-star guys. But I do like our talent and time will tell how good our talent is once we start to compete.”
